She launched her career in Community Nutrition with the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program in 1998, as a part-time nutritionist with the great municipality of Abilene.

Promoted to a full-time nutritionist after two years of service. Shortly after becoming a full time nutritionist, Lois was offered the position as Clinic supervisor for the Northside WIC clinic. A new public health facility was built in 2005 which combined the North and Southside WIC clinics. Lois was blessed to become clinic supervisor for the combined program.

Lois’s first love is serving people. 18 years of serving as clinic supervisor for the ATCPHD WIC program has offered many opportunities to serve countless citizens of Abilene in various capacities.

With very strong encouragement from a dear friend and colleague, Lois accepted the position as WIC Director in Oct. 2016 and is learning to love the administrative role in WIC.

Lois appreciates the knowledge, support and comradery from fellow directors and admires the commitment and dedication given by staff at the local, state and federal level which makes Texas WIC the best!
