Who Should Attend: This is a basic level course that focuses on the counseling skills needed to provide optimal breastfeeding support to clients. The course will enable attendees to strengthen their problem solving and critical thinking skills through case studies and other activities. While open to anyone, this course is best suited for WIC staff and other professionals in similar non-medical settings (i.e. Nurse Family Partnership, Early Childhood Intervention). There will be no written handouts or syllabus so you can focus on activities.

Class Details:

• Monday - mandatory orientation beginning at 9am CT (lasts about 15-20 minutes)
• Tuesday thru Thursday - class days from 9am-12pm CT

Continuing Education:

This event is "all or none." There is no partial credit awarded and no opportunity to make up any missed time. Contact hours are awarded for a variety of disciplines. Check under "Files" for details.

Requirements for Successful Completion

• Attend the event in its entirety
• Actively participate in education activities with a minimum of 90% attendance rate and 75% participation rate in polls calculated by Livestorm analytics.
• Submit a completed evaluation.
