This class is held virtually on the learning platform, Livestorm. Originally, this was a 2-day, in-person class but is now split into 4 sessions offered quarterly with multiple topics covered in each. You may attend the sessions in any order. Registering for this session does not automatically enroll you in all sessions.

Who Should Attend: While anyone may attend, this course is designed for WIC breastfeeding staff and health professionals in similar roles who counsel breastfeeding mothers and would like to improve problem-solving and counseling skills. The class emphasizes critical thinking. This is an intermediate level course and is activity oriented. You will work through case studies and activities as a group. Be prepared to join the discussions and share your ideas and experiences with others in class.

Topics for this session include Biomechanics of Lactation, Advances in Maternal and Infant Nutrition During Lactation, part 1 and Counseling During Complex Situations, part 2.

• Lactation Principles (in-person or virtually) within the immediate 3 years prior and
• Orientation at least once (see information page)
